Our Mission
The Bay Area Youth Lobbying Initiative (BAYLI), a student-based organization, centers around empowering individuals to affect long-term climate policy. We are dedicated to galvanizing students into getting involved in democracy: bridging the divide between activists and elected officials, and creating long-term change in the climate and environmental policies that will affect our generation.
Our Causes
Advocacy
We endorse and pursue state and federal legislation with elected officials through legislative advocacy efforts and meaningful, open-ended discussion events.
Unity
BAYLI seeks to best coalesce the strongest environmental voices of youth in the Bay Area. We understand the importance of the youth voice in democracy; as such, we understand that our biggest impact will be achieved through unity.
Representation
In interacting with elected officials, we understand that is imperative we put forth the thoughts of all constituents. BAYLI operates as the conscience of youth environmentalists within the Bay Area—we intend to represent diverse viewpoints, backgrounds, and perspective
